Lost

I feel completely lost. And thank God it’s not about the storyline.

But, on the other side, I’m drowning in self-pity because I have no idea how to promote my product in a way that makes people scream to themselves, I NEED TO READ THIS NOW.

I’ve also been promoting it all wrong, I think. My book is darkest academia—gothic, modern, sexy, dark, intellectual, and disturbing.

But then there’s me, who likes cute, sparkly, and pink things. I’m trying to be me, which I love for myself, but it’s not the thing to sell my book to more readers. I mean, I see others getting lucky on TikTok, selling their books on there with one line that blows up. I want to blow up too. I want to be ready for it—ready for the commentary, the bad reviews, the good reviews, and the recognition. I know everyone does on TikTok. It only takes one video, right?

I have been playing around with tools, saving photos, and writing down ideas. But it all feels useless. I’m getting discouraged… and I know I need to keep going. So I guess this is a rant, but also a review, and another pull-the-rug-out-from-under-me moment: that I suck at advertising.

How to get better but also not harm my morals and ideals, and at the same time not spend a buttload of money? How to focus but still give myself time with my family. Same struggles I always complain about, I guess. My version of struggles—small, I know, but an author's struggles.

Okay, so focus time, right? Because I can’t just sit here and complain. I need a plan. Need to be able to look back at something and remind myself... THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK AND FEEL LIKE:
